I was 23 years old when I had an ischemic stroke. I was completely healthy and worked out regularly so it was very unexpected. The stroke affected the feeling and dexterity in my left hand as well as the coordination of my left arm. I did therapy for 6 months and was not seeing results. During that time the tone in my left arm and hand worsened. At the 6 month mark I began acupuncture at Bliss. I received treatments each week for about 5 months. After completing my treatment plan I gained some feeling, and have better finger dexterity. I wish I would have known about acupuncture sooner because I think my results would have been even better.
